01

Areas of work

Long-term systems engineering at the boundary between software, operating systems, storage, and hardware.

01

Database engine internals

Core architecture, memory and transaction management, indexing, synchronization, event mechanisms, APIs, and long-term product evolution.

02

Embedded & hard real-time

Bare-metal and RTOS environments, timing-sensitive systems, embedded architectures, storage devices, peripheral interfaces, and hardware-facing layers.

03

Storage & persistence

Custom data storage, data indexing, raw flash, file systems, device drivers, compression, encryption, and platform-specific I/O.

04

Systems programming in C

Hands-on production C close to operating systems, hardware, storage, runtime layers, and performance-critical code paths.

05

Portability & integration

Cross-platform ports, toolchains, embedded hardware/software integration, architecture-specific behavior, debugging, and JTAG.

06

Complex systems troubleshooting

eXtremeDB

Core database architecture and implementation

Long-term work on a commercial embedded database engine, including custom memory management, indexing, storage and file-system access, synchronization, transactions, event handling, platform services, APIs, and compatibility-sensitive product evolution.

Platforms

Embedded and RTOS portability

Porting and maintaining systems software across bare metal, Linux/Embedded Linux, RTOS environments, ARM and other architectures, storage devices, peripheral interfaces, compilers, and toolchains.

Diagnostics

System-level root-cause analysis

Reproducing failures, analyzing logs and core dumps, debugging and profiling at system level, and isolating problems that may sit in the DBMS, OS, toolchain, file system, drivers, hardware, or client integration.
